"Sol Caribe", the documentary directed by Félix Limardo screened on Friday November 20th in Cap Cana to an audience that was obviously moved by the Caribbean rhythms that have made the land of sun a live show around the world
The documentary brought together such Dominican musical greats as Milly Quezada, Fefita, Johny Ventura, José Manuel Calderón, Francisco Ulloa and Francis Santana, among others. Many of the musicians attended the preview with executive producer Víctor Dumé.
Through "Sol Caribe", Limardo wants to show how Latin music is part a country’s identity, how it moves and transforms the souls of those who know it, feel it. The son, bachata or merengue are rhythms that have been exported around the world helping people to get to know a bit about the culture and tradition not only of the Dominican Republic but all of Latin America.
"Sol Caribe" will officially premiere on Sunday November 22 at the National Theater, as part of the closing events of the III Dominican Republic Global Film Festival 2009.
