Dominican
Companies Are Inviting Their Employees to the Movies
New York,
October 30, 2008With just one click,
Dominican companies can buy tickets online and invite their
employees to experience the II Dominican Global Film Festival
(DRGFF), taking place from November 18-23 in five cities in the
Dominican Republic. The Festival will be screening a total of 26
feature-length films and 10 documentaries.
Regardless of the company or organization’s size, the
Festival has something for everyone. Small companies with just 2
or 3 employees, medium-size groups or companies with over a
hundred employees will all enjoy the selection of films being
presented at the Festival. Special ticket packages with
attractive promotional gift offerings can be
reserved online at a 10% discount.
DRGFF will screen a selection of the best international
feature-length films, bringing the “seventh art” to all sectors
of Dominican society, in turn enriching the country’s film
culture. The Festival contributes to raising awareness and
comprehension of global issues through personal stories about
events and people that have shaped our lives. The Festival will
also serve as a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas
concerning topics of social, political and economic importance
presented in the films.
The issues dealt with in the films will positively impact all
employees that attend the event. Companies that have a mixture
of both adults and young people working with them should review
the program prior to distributing tickets. Companies can also
select films for their workers to see that can be later
discussed in meetings in order to solve issues or encourage
effectiveness among staff.
The global cinema event of this year in the Dominican
Republic will simultaneously be celebrated in
five cities – Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Higüey
and Nagua, at 10 different venues, making it an event of
unprecedented proportions. Under its motto, Global Issues,
Personal Stories, the Festival – an initiative of Global
Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD)
and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE)
– will bring to the Dominican Republic, the best of
international film, while at the same time offering
opportunities for learning, professional development and the
creation of professional networks. The complete program, as well
as all press releases and festival updates may be found on the
Festival’s webpage at:
