FILM SYNOPSIS:

Aron Ralston’s true accounts are portrayed superbly on the big screen by the ever evolving and versatile James Franco (HOWL, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS).  Ralston sets outs into the desert and canyons around Moab, Utah looking for new adventures.  Little does he know what is about to unfold.

Finding his hand trapped by a boulder after a freak mishap, and despite all of his efforts, Ralston cannot free himself from the terrible ordeal.  There is only one way out; he knows time is running out, his options grow scarce by the minute.

Ralston tries to escape his fate by all means available to him.  He uses all of the tricks he has learned throughout the years as a rock climber and nothing seems to work.  He records a log of the events with a video camera he brought along for the trip.

Running out of water and facing certain death, Ralston is forced to make the hardest decision of his young life.

Danny Boyle returns after his Academy Award winning film SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE with the true story about a man and his efforts to survive after a freak accident threatens to end his life.  Visually stunning and beautifully scored 127 HOURS may prove to be one of Boyle’s greatest films.
