1 - Film Preservation and Restoration: Nuremberg
Venue: Aud Pedro Mir, UASD
Date: Thursday, November 18
Time: 5:00PM
The film preservation, or film restoration, movement is an ongoing
project among film historians, archivists, museums, cinematheques, and
non-profit organizations to rescue decaying film stock and preserve the
images which they contain. Although at least 50% of the world’s films are now considered lost, there are some recent developments that could change that statistic in the future. Prominent film figures are doing their part in this endeavor, like Martin Scorsese, who recently established the World Cinema Foundation to help countries preserve their cinematic treasures and to help strengthen and support the work of international archives, providing a resource for those countries lacking the archival and technical facilities.
Join film producer Sandra Schulberg and other restoration experts, such as Dennis Doros of Milestone Film and Video, to discuss the recently restored 1948 film Nuremberg about one of the greatest courtroom dramas in history, documenting how the international
prosecutors built their case against the top Nazi war criminals using
the Nazis’ own films and records.
Speakers: Sandra Schulberg, Producer and Restorer
Dennis Doros, co-Founder, Milestone Film and Video

Some internet experts believe the next generation of the Web -- Web 3.0-- will make tasks like planning an evening of dinner and a movie faster and
easier. Instead of multiple searches, you might type a complex sentence or two in THE Web 3.0 browser, and the Web will do the rest. In one example, you could type "I want to eat at a good Dominican Restaurant and see a funny movie. What are my options?" The Web 3.0 browser will analyze all possible response, search the Internet for all possible answers, and then present you with the most optimal results.
That's not all. Many experts believe that the Web 3.0 browser will act like a personal assistant. The industry is getting ready to make all their goods ready available to you and therefore, a fierce battle among contents producers is being fought. And what does that mean for video itself on the web?

Character development is essential to a good story. We should be aware of their emotional make-up through their responses to their surroundings, to others with whom they interact, and to events which occur. If characters don't come alive in the script, they will not come alive on the screen. This is also facilitated by make-up, when the actor is transformed into another person his or her appearance must be altered to fit the new character.
So, how does one successfully characterize the protagonist and other characters within the storyline? Learn techniques that will help answer these questions and more at a hands-on workshop by trade professionals.
