Massive response to the call for volunteers for the 5th Dominican Republic Global Film Festival in Santiago, Higüey, Nagua and Puerto Plata has far exceeded expectations of Festival organizers.
More than 90 volunteers in Santiago, Higüey, Nagua and Puerto Plata attended meetings called to organize for the 5th edition of the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF).
Taína Rodríguez, Director of Logistics and Volunteers, met with those attending the volunteer meetings to discuss the work they will do and the different positions and roles they will fill during the upcoming Festival.
In each of the four cities where volunteer meetings were held, the halls were packed, demonstrating the overwhelming interest on the part of young people for a cultural activity that has become an annual event greatly looked forward to in each of these communities.
Regional campuses of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), which will also provide a venue for this year’s Festival, hosted the meetings with the volunteers, some of whom are seeking to repeat their experience of former Festivals.
In each of the meeting places, prospective volunteers received their assignments and detailed information on the role the will play at the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF).
Volunteers can choose to work in various activities including as guides, photographers, general support staff, technology assistants, press and technical assistants.
The 5th Dominican Republic Global Film Festival will take place from Tuesday November 15 to Sunday November 20, 2011.
