Phillip Noyce

Noyce was 17 when he made his first film, the 15-minute BETTER TO REIGN IN HELL, utilizing a unique financial scheme selling roles in his movies to his friends. One of Noyce’s film school projects brought him to the attention of producer David Elfick, who hired him to co-write and direct NEWSFRONT. The award-winning hit film was the first Australian film to be selected to screen at the New York Film Festival and it opened the London Film Festival.
