The movie, produced by Shalim Ortiz, closed the III Dominican Republic Global Film Festival in Caletón Beach, Cap Cana.

CapCanaCap Cana said “see you next year” to the III Dominican Republic Global Film Festival following the screening on Saturday of Touched.

The bohemian atmosphere on the Caletón Beach was shared by many of the Festival guests. Film producers and directors enjoyed the beachfront open-air screening of Shalim Ortiz’s production which was the grand finale of two nights of magic and performances.

At the end of the film, the cast and director, Dan Niera thanked the public at the event as well as the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo for the opportunity to participate in the first rate Film Festival.

Referring to the two leading females actresses, Shalim Ortiz expressed great admiration for the young Holliston Coleman as a “little girl whom I am a fan of and whose films I will never miss because she has a great future ahead of her.” Holliston Coleman, made an effort to speak Spanish to thank everyone for the wonderful treatment she received at the Festival and to all those in the audience. Actress Shirly Brener said the movie was made possible thanks to the work done by everyone. She also expressed appreciation for the treatment she received and for “the best place I have ever been in my whole life.” She stressed the importance of “seeing each other again next year for a few days.”

TouchedYamile Eusebio, Director of Planning, Development and Marketing for the Festival, had the final word and bid farewell to all and congratulated all those who showed films in Cap Cana. She affirmed that the Festival’s slogan, “Global Issues, Personal Stories” was shown to have been the best expression for the realization of this grand event. “Just as Shirley Brener said, they may be personal stories that happen here but they also happen all over the world.”
Cap Cana closed its “Film under the Stars” series with a spectacular fireworks display and told everyone to come back again next year.

The fourth edition of the Dominican Global Film Festival will take place from November 16 to 21, 2010 and will show the other parts of the Dominican Republic to the world.
