In a press conference, the directors of the Festival gave the first details of the 7th edition of the event, to be held from November 12-20th in Santiago , Puerto Plata, Santo Domingo, Nagua , Cap Cana and Jacmel.
The Dominican Republic Global Film Festival Kicks Off Its Seventh Edition In Nagua With The Screening Of Greencard Warriors
(Nagua, Tuesday, October 15th 2013).- The Dominican Global Film Festival (FCGD) announced the inauguration of its 7th edition in Nagua on Wednesday November 13th at 6:30 pm, in the Nagua Regional University Center (CURNA), with a red carpet and the showing of the movie Greencard Warriors.
Omar de la Cruz, director of the FCGD, made the announcement with Julián Guzmán, regional Cultural Director, and Ramón Enrique Amparo, director of CURNA.
The United Kingdom and Northern Ireland are guests of honor in this year’s edition of the FCGD.
De la Cruz announced that the 2013 edition of the Festival will use the Nagua Regional University Center to screen its movies.
He also invited journalists to apply for their press accreditations through the Festival’s official page: www.festivaldecineglobal.org.
Five Dominican locations – Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Cap Cana, and Nagua and Jacmel in Haiti, will screen the Festival’s movies following the inauguration at the National Theater, on Tuesday November 12th with the rolling out of a red carpet for the invited stars.
Greencard Warriors , that will kick off the Festival in Nagua, tells the story of undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles who just sent their eldest son to war. It was directed by Miriam Kruishoop, and produced by Bronwyn Cornelius, Julian Catherley and Kruishoop. The cast is conformed by Manny Pérez, Ángel Amaral, Paige Hurd and Vivica A. Fox.
